Drying Rack Questions Answered

What is PaintBlox Pro?

PaintBlox Pro™ is a simple, affordable, and highly functional paint drying rack system designed to turn any workspace into an efficient drying station. It sets up quickly with no tools or fasteners and delivers professional results by keeping painted materials elevated and separated—helping reduce contact points, sticker marks, and surface imperfections during the drying process.

Where is PaintBlox Pro made?

PaintBlox Pro is proudly made in Williamstown, Vermont, USA. Each Blox is manufactured using 50% recycled plastic sourced from a facility in St. Albans, Vermont.

Who is PaintBlox Pro for?

PaintBlox Pro is designed for professional painters, contractors, and serious DIYers. Whether you’re painting trim for a single room or tackling a larger project like siding or cabinetry, the system scales easily to fit the job.

How many “Blox” do I need?

  • Small Projects (kitchen, trim for a few rooms): 24 Blox
  • Medium Projects (large kitchens, multiple rooms, siding): 48 Blox
  • Larger Projects (full trim sets, siding, multiple rooms): 72 Blox
  • Commercial/Millwork Shops or Whole House Siding: 96+ Blox

For maximum stacking:

  • 12' & under material: 64 Blox (2 bunks per layer)
  • 12' & over material: 96 Blox (3 bunks per layer)

What lumber sizes fit?

PaintBlox Pro works with standard 1×3 furring strips (or smaller) and is ideal for stacking materials up to 5/4 inch thick, including siding, trim, cabinet doors, and similar building materials. Thicker materials can be accommodated by using additional Blox per layer, allowing you to adjust spacing as needed. Its modular design makes it easy to adapt to a wide range of material sizes and project requirements (furring strips not included).

How much weight can it hold?

When used as directed, the bottom block of any single vertical stack supports up to 1,000 lbs. Overall capacity depends on how many stacks are used and how weight is distributed across the system. Always distribute weight evenly and follow recommended setup guidelines for best performance.

Can I reuse the blocks after overspray?

Yes - dried paint flakes off; Blox stay dimensionally stable.

What if I need more capacity later?

Add another Blox; all four tiers interlock seamlessly.

Which kit do I need?

Select your board width and length, then enter either the number of boards or your total linear feet. The calculator factors in board width to give you the most accurate PaintBlox Pro kit recommendation for your project.

Rule: For 12' and under use 4 PaintBlox per layer; over 12' use 6.
